2. Organization Description

2.1. General Introduction of the Organization

SAMBANDHA NEPAL, is a non-governmental organization established in 2020A.D as non- profitable organization, separated from party politics for widening improvement of socio-economic and cultural status of the backward people living in the rural communities. The organization is working with primary focus on overall development of the country acting as helping hand of the government initiatives. Some of the youths of Dailekh having similar aims and perception of developing prosperous society and country established the organization having inclusive provision of marginalized, Dalit communities, Women, diverse ethnicities in the legal system of the organization. With the main objective of further development of human rights, health, education, CCDRR and agriculture sector, the organization has been implementing plans and programs to help meet the real needs of the community. It is established for to make relevant agencies responsible for the development of backward and marginalized classes, communities, women, Dalit-women, children, minorities and youth in the district, to raise a strong voice against social and cultural differences and inconsistencies, for economic, social and cultural transformation, climate adaptation, development in good governance. Since its inception, this organization has been working in the areas of good governance, climate adaptation and environmental protection, sexual and reproductive health, gender equality and social inclusion, communication and information literacy, youth empowerment, vulnerable people, caste, community and women. , Dalits and others. , Children, Minorities. and youth) are advocating and working on this issue. The organization is working with poor and vulnerable communities, aiming to address their interest & needs by promoting socioeconomic and cultural status. It also encourages the communities for raising their issues themselves along with support in participatory planning as well as prioritization of need-based interventions. For the systematic management, upliftment of its purpose, goals and objectives, 13 board members has been elected from AGM.

SAMBANDHA NEPAL has been registered in DAO Dailekh with the registration No-467-076/077 on 13 Feb, 2020 within Organization Registration Act. 2034. Similarly, it has been affiliated in Social Welfare Council with the affiliation No-52465-077/78. SAMBANDHA NEPAL has also been registered in PAN with No 613227913.

There will have been the construction of equitable society with the establishment of empowered organization to play effective & vital role in the integrated development of the community.

To improve the educational, health, economic and Right aspect of the women, Dalit, Janajaties, Children and poor with the help of social mobilization and peoples’ participation.

SAMBANDHA NEPAL works in the community by focusing on the interest and needs of the community by raising the social, economic and cultural status of the community to fulfill its own goal and objectives. SAMBANDHA NEPAL encourages the community to work for themselves to raise their status. SAMBANDHA NEPAL encourages in participatory planning and prioritization as well as focuses on the prioritized implementation of the activities. SAMBANDHA NEPAL, has been working in the community since its establishment with harmonious partnership and coordination with different line agencies. SAMBANDHA NEPAL has made partnership with different governmental and non-governmental agencies. In the beginning, SAMBANDHA NEPAL started working together with local youth in Narayan municipality of Dailekh district. After that, it started to work together with local municipalities, associations and related bodies. And now the organization is implementing different programs and campaigns in coordination with various stakeholders as well as by itself.

3. Organizational Management

SAMBANDHA NEPAL has clear vision for organizational management. The roles and responsibility of each section has been clearly defined. General Assembly is the higher authority of the organization and is elected in every 3 years from the general Assembly. The executive committee leads and guides the organization, regular monitoring and evaluation of the programs for the better implementation, formulate guideline and decision making are the key activities done by the executive committee. To lead the organization towards the good governance different sub-committee like, Management Sub-committee, Monitoring Sub- committee, Procurement Sub-committee, physical assets supervision Sub-committee, organizational development sub-committee, Resource mobilization sub-committee, recruitment sub-committee, Risk Reduction Taskforce & Emergency Rescue Taskforce are performed owns responsibilities.

4. Finance/Account/Audit

SAMBANDHA NEPAL collects resources from membership fees, late fee, and other service fee, as well as overhead & management expenses provided by the donor agencies. The collected fund is mobilized for the Capacity development of the members and staffs of the organization. All the transactions are made by cheque from bank. The expenses bill voucher and receipt will be submitted to the subjective sub-committee and endorsement to the executive committee. The executive committee checks whether the expenses are real or not and approved. Account has been managed in the standard format of accountancy of Nepal government. Different formats have been developed to manage the account properly. Audit has been made once a year.

11. Key Professional Experience of SAMBANDHA NEPAL:

(a)  Community development through social mobilization

SAMBANDHA NEPAL applied, mobilized and made capable community by executing leadership development, group management, and effective communication methodology, transformative education trainings/program for the vulnerable and marginal groups of the VDCs. In which, they are able to plan their interventions on the basis of their needs. Such as their right on natural resources (water, land and forests), discriminations, violence, receiving services through service providers etc. Practices related to DRR have been carry out for the sustainable livelihood improvement of the community. Being a community based social organization; SAMBANDHA NEPAL has the following action plans and programs for community development:

(b)  Gender and Social Inclusion.

SAMBANDHA NEPAL generated policies related to GESI, such as GESI policy applied in every intervention, formation of committee/sub committees, and projects staff selection process by applying GESI policy of the organization. As per guidance of organization’s GESI policy, organization emphasis on gender equity and social inclusion in each intervention conducted on the name of organization. SAMBANDHA NEPAL implementing its intervention with the maximum participation of Dalit community having provision in every interventions and programs. For the addressing social bad practice about upper and lower cast in the community, such saha-bhoj (joint together parties), capacity building of Dalit, entrepreneurship development, scholarship, IGA, and social inclusion related interventions and campaigns has been organizing. SAMBANDHA NEPAL ensured participation of the women and dalit as per the GESI policy of the organization in group formation, participation and the implementation of its interventions etc.

(c)  Education, formal & non-formal education, basic and compulsory education

Inherently targeted formal/non-formal interventions, underpinned by flexibility, diversity, context specificity and openness, are forceful in accommodating specific learning needs of heterogeneous learners with diverse backgrounds. For many children, young & elder people who experience educational exclusion, non-formal education is an important means to acquiring knowledge, skills, values and attitudes required for further learning, better well-being and improved livelihoods. Every out-of- school child, adolescent& elder is unique, affected by interrelated factors of exclusion, such as poverty, geographical location, social status and gender bias, and their profiles changes over time as those factors evolves, together with other conditions such as age, family situation and related national policies. Hence, formal and non-formal education can target particular population groups facing educational marginalization as well as specific geographical locations in which educational challenges persist. SAMBANDHA NEPAL  provides/supports to communities for formal and non-formal education with the coordination/collaboration with local level, NGO/ INGO, Entrepreneurs etc.

(d)  Child Protection, Child Right Governance.

SAMBANDHA NEPAL has been working in the sector of child right governance, child protection. Organization has developed and applied child safeguard policy. SAMBANDHA NEPAL has jointly working with District Child Welfare Board, Women and Children Office in District level and Village Child protection Committee, Village Education Committee, Community Based Child Protection Committee as well as child club in community level. Following activities and programs are carryout for CP/CRG;

(e)  Good governance and youth right

SAMBANDHA NEPAL facilitate and support for establishment good governance in development with meaningful participation of youth. SAMBANDHA NEPAL considered youth are the major element of development. By the transformation education class conduction, internalize the existing issues and youth are responsible to overcome and solved the issues. Following activities and programs are carrying out;

(f)  Youth involvement in development

SAMBANDHA NEPAL facilitate and support youth to involve in development with meaningful participation of youth. SAMBANDHA NEPAL considered youth are the major element of development. Following activities and programs are carrying out;

(g)  Vocational & Employment based skill development to youth

SAMBANDHA NEPAL has been facilitating and support to youth in vocational and employment based skill development. Need based vocational and employment training has been provided to enthusiastic youth. Following activities and programs are carrying out;

(h)  Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change

SAMBANDHA NEPAL provide facilitation and support for publishing plans to community and district level DRM committee. In which firstly conducts Participatory Vulnerable Capacity Assessment (PCVA) at community level with the participation of community members, political leaders, teachers, students and stakeholders using participatory methods. After the preparation of the plans SAMBANDHA NEPAL, supports to conduct planned activities by community through the linkage/coordination/collaboration with related stakeholders (GOs, I/NGOs and private sectors etc.)

(i)  Early Child Marriage Campaign

SAMBANDHA NEPAL provide facilitation and Awareness raising support to stopping Early Child Marriage inside & outside Dailekh District. Since beginning of 2020 this campaign was start. Awareness raising & orientation intervention is running. Facebook, Child club, Youth club, adolescent network/group are the major supporters. 30 minutes compulsory session will be taken in every training/orientation/workshop organized by organization and demonstration flex banner related Early Child Marriage Campaign. Organization declares and orient to all board member & staff member to try to stop child marriage.

(j)  Safe Menstruation (Chhaupadi) Campaign

SAMBANDHA NEPAL provide facilitation and Awareness raising support to Reducing tradition menstruation system existing in communities inside Dailekh District coordination with Child Club Network. Since beginning of 2020 this campaign was start. Awareness raising & orientation intervention is running program or campaign. 15-20 minutes session will be taken in every training/orientation/workshop organized by organization and demonstration flex banner related to Safe Menstruation Campaign. Organization declares and orient to all board member & staff member to try to reduce traditional Menstruation (Chhaupadi).

(k)  Green Dailekh Clean Dailekh Campaign

SAMBANDHA NEPAL  provide facilitation and Awareness raising support to Reducing waste existing in communities inside Dailekh District coordination with youth groups. Since beginning of 2020 this campaign was start. The campaign is conducted weekly. This campaign has encouraged the use of local resources. It has inspired the local people to use plastic products properly and less. Because of the campaign, the local level is making policies related to climate and environment.

(l)  DoKo Abhiyan

SAMBANDHA NEPAL  lead the DoKo Abhiyan to provide facilitation and Awareness raising support to Reducing waste existing in communities inside Dailekh District. DoKo Abhiyan is a potential effort to raise awareness about climate change and advocate for positive change in communities to address it. The DoKo campaign is an organized effort and initiative launched with the aim of raising awareness in the community about climate change and related challenges. The campaign was launched by individuals, organizations or coalitions with the aim of garnering public support, influencing policy decisions and promoting sustainable development. The DoKo campaign is a multifaceted effort to fight against climate change by advocating policies, engaging communities, and pressuring local governments, stakeholders, and industries to take meaningful steps to address the global climate crisis.
