Sambandha Nepal is a youth-led, non-profit, non-governmental organization formally established in 2076 B.S. (2020 AD) with the motivation and encouragement of like-minded youth and community leaders who believed in inclusive development and social transformation. With a deep commitment to justice, equity, and dignity, Sambandha Nepal envisions a just and harmonious society where every individual—regardless of caste, gender, ethnicity, geography, or economic status—can enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and respect.
The organization was founded with the core purpose of empowering marginalized and disadvantaged communities through rights-based, participatory, and inclusive development approaches. Recognizing the structural inequalities and challenges faced by women, children, youth, Dalits, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and the poor, Sambandha Nepal has been actively engaged in designing and delivering various programs aimed at creating sustainable change. These include community empowerment, education, health, livelihood promotion, disaster risk reduction, gender equality disability and social inclusion (GEDSI), human rights advocacy, and environmental protection.
Guided by the motto “सामाजिक रूपान्तरणका लागि हामी सबैकाे एक्यवद्दता” (Our unity for social transformation),
Sambandha Nepal seeks to bring positive transformation in the lives of individuals and communities by promoting social justice, democratic participation, and accountable governance. It has gained extensive experience working on issues such as women and child rights, youth mobilization, climate change adaptation, food security, psychosocial wellbeing, and community resilience.
Since the promulgation of Nepal’s federal constitution, Sambandha Nepal has been committed to ensuring the meaningful participation of all marginalized voices in local governance structures. The organization believes that inclusive representation, especially of women, Dalits, and indigenous communities, is essential for building a truly democratic and equitable state. While we celebrate the constitutional provision of 33% women’s representation and other inclusive mandates, we also acknowledge the need for continued advocacy and grassroots mobilization to make these achievements fully effective and meaningful in practice.
Sambandha Nepal is currently implementing various projects in partnership with local governments, national and international NGOs, development partners, networks, and community-based organizations. With a central office based in the Dailekh Karnali Province, the organization has successfully expanded its programs across multiple districts, including Surkhet and other districts of karnali province bringing experience and expertise in program design, implementation, monitoring, and learning.
In conclusion, Sambandha Nepal would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all government and non-government agencies, donor organizations, civil society actors, local communities, media, and all the members, board representatives, volunteers, and well-wishers who have supported us throughout our journey. We are confident that with your continued support and collaboration, we will move further toward our vision of an inclusive, empowered, and equitable Nepal.
